Activity Week 2012
Extendicare’s Activity Department enjoyed getting together for an evening out in celebration of National Activity Week 2012. The Activity Department is responsible for coordinating and implementing activities and events for our residents. Extendicare Employee Length of Service Brunch
At Extendicare, we recognize the importance of employee longevity. Each year at Christmas we get together for a brunch to celebrate those who have 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years or more of service to Extendicare. Of the 92 employees honored they had combined services years of 887! Our longest service employees were Betty Dowling, LPN with 35 years, Debra Coachman and Betty Smith, CNAs, with 35 years each and JoAnn Hart, LPN, with 27 years of service. Extendicare salutes these employees and the continuity and dedication that they bring to Extendicare each day.
Extendicare Employee Christmas Party 2011
Our favorite time each year is our annual Employee Christmas Party. It is a day that we celebrate the birth of our Savior, the many blessings He has given to Extendicare and enjoy fellowship with each other. We come together in our Dining Hall for a Christmas meal and a chance to win some wonderful door prizes.

Extendicare’s Newest Addition – Whitehall Assisted Living Community
Scheduled for completion in Winter of 2011, Extendicare’s newest addition will offer the availability of 16 suites for assisted living services. This addition will enable Extendicare to offer assisted living services in three different locations. Whitehall and Somerset are located in Dothan and Providence is in Ozark, AL.
As you can see the construction is moving along rapidly and right on schedule!

2011 National Healthcare Housekeeping Week
September 12-16, 2011
Extendicare celebrated the contributions of our Housekeeping Department during National Healthcare Housekeeping Week. The Housekeeping staff enjoyed door prize drawings during the week and a luncheon in their honor on Friday, September 16th.
Annual Domino Tournament
Extendicare recently hosted the Annual Domino Tournament for area nursing facilities. Some of those competing for Extendicare was Ms. Frances Harrell who took Second place in the 85 and older division and avid domino player, Ms. Claire Tromer.
