Dr. Morriss has been dedicated to the patients and residents of Extendicare since 2006. He received a Master of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and then went on to gain his Medical Doctor degree from Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Morriss completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Morris is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians. He has held such prestigious positions as Vice President of Medical Staff and then President at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He founded Southern Clinic, P.C. in Dothan in 1985 where he practices internal medicine.
Dr. Morriss is married to the former Mary Ethel Vinson and has three children; Amy Elizabeth, Laura Kathryn, and Sarah Collins. He is a member of First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Deacon Chairman, and Sunday School Teacher.
